Diana Paulová Empty city / KEGA - č. 008VŠVU - 4/2021

The situation referred us to digital formats extending into the original "broken" structures to become their support. In the project, I expressed this moment by using software that prepares objects before 3D printing. The program itself generates supports by inserting shards of (broken) crockery in places that require it. Objects become whole again and take on a new dimension with minimal intervention by the designer. Dining turns into a walk through a post-apocalyptic city, among architecture that surpasses us, when the scale is changed. The composition thus becomes a metaphor for small moments, but also for big everyday life, intimate but also public space.

The project is a part of the research and educational project KEGA - stARTup, a new concept of teaching author's design with regard to the applicability of graduates in practice no. 008VŠVU-4/2021
